I am currently working as a Research Scientist at Centre for Nuclear Safety, VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, Finland. VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland — founded in wartime Finland in 1942 — is one of Europe’s leading research institutions owned by the Finnish state.
I was as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Nuclear Energy and Safety research division, Paul Scherrer Institute, Switzerland. I was also awarded Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Fellowship — Paul Scherrer Institute being the host institution. The Laboratory for Nuclear Materials is the principal research unit and national centre of excellence in Switzerland for nuclear materials.
I was a doctoral student at Sustainable Energy Research Laboratory, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Patna, India. I was the key member of this laboratory and have contributed immensely to its conception and developments.
Since my school days, I have been passionate about making Earth greener and peaceful. This passion materialised as fabrication of smokeless-chimney during my school day project and as running a diesel engine on bio-diesel doped with Cerium oxide nano-particles during my Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering project. For my doctoral thesis, I focused on ‘understanding the role of circumferential hydride on the thermo-mechanical behaviour of Zircaloy-4 nuclear fuel clad tube’, which eventually helped in making the nuclear power reactors safer and world greener. During post-doctoral research, I investigated ‘Radiation damage & ageing effects in nuclear reactor pressure vessel material’.
I have grown up with a clear philosophy of contributing in the amelioration of humankind. To accomplish this, I communicate science and connect with masses to foster scientific temperament and rational thinking. In addition, I engage with authorities for solutions of real issues, participate in the discussion about social problems, write about them at various online media platforms as a freelancer. At the same time, far from chaos, I silently strive to dissolve myself in the smile of others through various philanthropic activities.
